It's Alive!

Well, a month or so into having our new design agency up and running things are going well. New biz has been fun and very successful so far. I think our offering is quite particular and stands out from the crowd. We’re also not outrageously expensive either. In general everything is Fab-U-Lous … hehehe.

Anyway, without further ado, the new site is live: http://www.neuromantics.net

Enjoy!

Mikey Streets, You Are Smart

Just been listening to the new The Streets album, and must say I haven’t heard an album that stands out quite so much as a complete genius piece of work in a very very long time. It’s got laughs, it’s got fun and games, it’s got Mike being a bit crap at getting the DVD back to the shop and phoning his mum, it’s got tears and a beginning middle and end.

Brilliant! You can just imagine after not getting the Mercury music prize a couple of years back thinking “right you bastards… “

Disk Inventory X

Floating around via everyone. Cute app giving a visual representation of you disk files/usage/etc. Whatever. Looks cool.

This is mine – the blue area top is all MP3s the biggest single file is iDVD (over a gig? what?!). Interesting, in a sort of useless way i guess.

Update At Last

Been very busy recently, what with the bigger job of setting up my new design agency, Neuromantics (yeah I know its the same name, but we’re playing a very different game), and migrating to my new main work machine (yes its pretty and very fast). As part of the latter I came across a splendid solution to an old probelm I had ignored/avoided for ages – syncing and backing up work.

Having a little more at stake now it was about time I took this seriously. It was also the first time I had two OSX machines running together full time (the G3 sadly had many flaws at doing this, no airport, no support for the SCSI drive with all my work on, etc). It’s been a slick experience up to this point but nothing seemed to do the very simple job I required – sync two “work” directories over the network. I tried Retrospect, Folder Synchronise, Tri-Backup and others with only limited success. Then came across a FREE little app that seems to do exactly that with literally no fuss – Synk. Its great, what can I say. Job done, no injuries, everone goes home happy.

Synk – No fuss backups and synchronisation

Also of note: ClipboardSharing – wicked!
